Frasers Autographs is a trading division of Stanley Gibbons which tendered for a new web platform and web partner in 2010 with the intention of consolidating it's web properties and providing a firm foundation for online growth. Sceneric and hybris were selected in August 2010. Sceneric assembled an experienced team of ecommerce professionals to work with client side IT and business staff to take the high level requirements and to deliver a fully integrated ecommerce platform.
To provide a fully automated solution, hybris has been integrated with the Orbis TaskCentre message broker to provide full customer, product and order integration with the back-office product information management, customer relationship management and accounting systems. Integration to SagePay provides secure PCI compliant payments, with online analytics provided through Google Analytics.
hybris has also been configured to put as much into the hands of the marketing and merchandising teams as possible, with Scenerics CMS expertise proving crucial in designing resuable templates that create a single managed solution for online.
Site features include a rich Web 2.0 interface including:
* Mega-menus controllable through the hybris WCMS module
* Carousels and promo banners editable through the hybris WCMS to include products from the catalog
* Faceted navigation
* A streamlined checkout process to drive conversion
* Product image zoom
* Integrated CMS templates that allow products to be integrated to content pages (such as here)
Integration through the hybris service layer to a Service Orientated Architecture includes:
* Automatic load and update of the product catalog from Stibo STEP (around 35,000 products)
* Stock updates to ensure in-store and web remain syncronised
* Syncronisation of customer data from web to call centre software to provide multi-channel capability
* Delivery of order data into the fulfillment systems
The 5 month project is the first delivery of the strategic web platform which will shortly launch Stanley Gibbons main site and form the basis of future web initiatives through the hybris multi-site capability.
Sceneric & Stanley Gibbons continue to work on the development of the Stanley Gibbons website which is due for a phased launch during Q2 2011
