TA | PageFlip Launches Bluetooth Foot Pedal for Hands-Free Page Turning on iPads, Macs, and PCs

 A new wireless foot pedal makes it possible to perform hands-free page turning of electronic documents on any computer, including iPads. The pedal, known as the PageFlip Cicada, is available immediately for worldwide distribution directly from PageFlip oficial site. The Hal Leonard Corporation has agreed to handle U.S. retail channel distribution.
The PageFlip Cicada is a wireless Bluetooth pedal designed to meet the needs of musicians and people with disabilities who struggle with the challenge and inconvenience of page turning. PageFlip Cicada works exclusively with digital documents on iPads, Macs, and PCs. By simply tapping the left or right pedal of the PageFlip Cicada, digital content can now be flipped or scrolled in either the forward or reverse directions for convenient hands-free reading.
The PageFlip Cicada emulates a standard keyboard and works with any software that uses keyboard strokes to navigate through digital files. For added versatility, the user may select among five modes for the dual pedals: PageUp/PageDown, Left/Right arrow, Up/Down arrow, Left/Right mouse click, and Space/Enter. Changing modes is as simple as pressing a button. No software installation or programming is required.
The PageFlip Cicada works with iPads under select keyboard-compatible apps such as forScore, Deepdish GigBook, MusicReader, unrealBook, and OnSong. The pedal does not operate with the Amazon Kindle since the Kindle does not support Bluetooth or include a USB port. However, Kindle software running on a PC or Mac works with the pedal.
The PageFlip Cicada has a retail price of $79.95 and ships with a universal AC adapter and a USB Bluetooth dongle for use with computers that are not already equipped with Bluetooth support. The PageFlip Cicada can be powered by two AA batteries, features an autorepeat mode for fast browsing or scrolling, and includes two 1/8" mono plugs for people with disabilities to attach an external breath-controlled sip-and-puff switch or two lightweight JellyBean pushbuttons to trigger page turning in the forward or reverse directions. External switches are not included. PageFlip offers free shipping within the US and Canada.
PageFlip has reached a deal with Milwaukee-based Hal Leonard Corporation to be the exclusive distributor of the pedal to all retail channels in the US. TA | How to create strong passwords in Windows

To keep your computer more secure with the help of the strong password. For a password to be strong there should be certain things to be in front of you. There must be at least seven characters long. Because of the way passwords are encrypted, the most secure passwords are seven or fourteen characters long and it must contain the characters from each of these below given following groups.

Group Examples
Letters (uppercase and lowercase) A, B, C... (and a, b, c...)
Numerals 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9
Symbols (all characters not defined as letters or numerals) ` ~ ! @ # $ % ^ & * ( ) _ + - = { } | [ ] \ : " ; ' < > ? , . /

The password must have at least one symbol character in the second through sixth or any of the position into your password. Be extensively dissimilar from preceding passwords. It must not contain your name or user name in the password. Or it must not be general word or name.

Normally the Passwords can be the weakest bond in a computer security format. Strong, hard-to-guess passwords are very important because the tools and computers that people use to guess passwords maintain to improve. Network passwords that once took weeks to guess can now it can be guessed within an hour or hours.
Password-guessing software utilizes one of three approaches intelligent guessing, dictionary attacks, and automation that tries every likely combination of the characters. Given enough time, the automated method can guess any password. However, it can still take months to guess a good as well as the strong password for the Windows.

Windows passwords can be up to 127 characters long. However, if you are using Microsoft Windows XP on a network that also has computer systems using Microsoft Windows 95 or Microsoft Windows 98, consider using passwords not longer than (fourteen) 14 characters. Windows 95 and Windows 98 support passwords of up to (fourteen) 14 characters. If your password is too longer, you may be unable to log on to your network from the respected computers systems.

TA | Hardware required to form a new home network setup in Windows XP

There are four types of different ways to setup the Network Setup

a) Network adapters or network cards connect your computers system to the network and enable them to communicate with a pair of the computers system. Network adapters can be attached to the USB port on your computer or installed within your computer in an available PCI expansion slot.

b) Network hubs and cables: A hub connects communication lines at a core location. A hub is typically used for connecting a pair or multiple computers system to an Ethernet network. A hub is not compulsory if you attach your computers system through your phone lines using a home phone line network adapter, or if you make use of a wireless adapter. You may be capable to use IEEE 1394 network adapters on your computer system.


c) Modem: A modem can be a 28.8 or 56 Kbps modem, a wireless modem, an Integrated Services Digital Network, a Digital Subscriber Line, or a cable modem.


d) The computers on your network must meet the following minimum requirements:
If you make use of Internet Connection Sharing (ICS), the computer sharing its Internet connection (the ICS host computer) should be running Windows XP Home Edition or Windows XP Professional on to your computer system.

Network Setup Wizard can only be run on computers in which Windows 98, Windows 98 Second Edition, Windows Millennium Edition, Windows XP Home Edition, Windows XP Professional, or Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack 2 is running.
When you have the entire required hardware installed in each one of your computers systems, then you can ready to run the Network Setup Wizard on to your computer systems.
